Peter Sukosd Joins Auchan Retail Hungary as Company Secretary

Former Legal, Compliance and Public Affairs Director at eMAG Hungary Peter Sukosd has joined Auchan Retail Hungary as its new Company Secretary.

Auchan is a French multinational retail group headquartered in Croix, France.

Before the move, Sukosd was the Legal, Compliance and Public Affairs Director at eMAG Hungary between 2021 and 2025. Earlier, he was the Head of Legal, Compliance and Public Affairs at Metro Cash & Carry Hungary between 2020 and 2021 and was also the Head of Legal and Compliance with the company between 2015 and 2019. Between 2019 and 2020, he was the Head of Antitrust and Competition for DLA Piper in Budapest (as reported by CEE Legal Matters on September 19, 2019). Earlier still, Sukosd was with British American Tobacco as a Senior Legal Manager for Hungary and Croatia between 2012 and 2015. He began his career working for the Hungarian Competition Authority in 2002, as a Case Handler, and later bacame a Chief Executive Counselor in 2009 as well as the Deputy Head of the Antitrust Section in 2012.

“As the Company Secretary of Auchan Retail Hungary I am responsible for the company’s first, second, and third lines of defense, namely the legal, compliance, audit, internal control and risk, security and data protection functions,” said Sukosd. “I am really excited about managing all these lines of defense since their smooth and coordinated operation is inevitable for the efficient business operation of the company.”

Sukosd was a speaker at the 2024 Hungary GC Summit as well as at the 2017 Hungary GC Summit.
