Marcin Czarnecki Joins Worldcoin as Chief Privacy Counsel

Former PayU Chief Privacy Office Marcin Czarnecki has joined Worldcoin as its new Chief Privacy Counsel.

Worldcoin is an iris biometric cryptocurrency project developed by San Francisco and Berlin-based Tools for Humanity. Founded in 2019 by OpenAI chief executive Sam Altman, Max Novendstern, and Alex Blania, it is backed by VC Andreessen Horowitz.

Earlier, Czarnecki spent two years with PayU (as reported by CEE In House Matters on August 3, 2022), three years with the Prosus Group as a Senior Privacy Counsel, as well as a year and a half with Showmax as its Senior Commercial and Privacy Counsel. He began his career in 2007 with Clifford Chance, where he spent ten years.

Between 2020 and 2023, Papageorgiou worked as Legal Counsel for the Retail World SA arm of Public. He then took on the role of Senior Legal Counsel at Public Group.
