Gabor Kukovecz Appointed Regional Legal & Compliance Counsel – CEE at Haleon

Haleon has appointed Gabor Kukovecz as Regional Compliance & Legal Counsel for Central and Eastern Europe.

Before Haleon, Kukovecz worked as Group Legal & Compliance Director at Phoenix Group between 2022 and 2024 (as reported by CEE In-House Matters on January 27, 2023). Earlier, he spent a decade at Diageo, between 2012 and 2022, first as Company Secretary and Legal Counsel Hungary (Head of Legal), then as Head of Legal & Operations, DPO. Earlier still, Kukovecz worked at British American Tobacco as Senior Legal Manager between 2011 and 2012. His experience includes working as Legal Manager with Invitel International between 2007 and 2011, Senior Associate with Allen & Overy in 2007, Legal Advisor at UPC Hungary between 2001 and 2006, and Junior Lawyer at Tesco between 1998 and 2001.

“I’m truly excited to have joined Haleon as Regional Compliance & Legal Counsel for Central and Eastern Europe,” commented Kukovecz. “This role allows me to contribute to a company whose mission resonates deeply with me: delivering better everyday health with humanity. Haleon is home to some of the most trusted consumer healthcare brands globally, including Sensodyne, Voltaren, Otrivin, and Panadol – products that millions rely on daily to improve their quality of life. What drew me to this position was the opportunity to help shape the legal and compliance framework across a diverse region, while supporting a business that places integrity and patient well-being at the heart of its operations. I look forward to collaborating with colleagues across Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Romania to foster a strong culture of ethics and transparency. It’s a meaningful challenge, and I’m grateful to be part of a team that combines innovation with responsibility.”
